10 Reasons We Launched the Global Women's Health Innovation Conference & Awards in India.
We are often asked what made us decide on Women’s Health as a topic of discussion. Why did we choose to create and build an event and a movement around it knowing that it is not going to be an easy path to tread on, especially considering it was never a mainstream topic of discussion in India?
Here are 10 reasons why we launched the Global Women’s Health Innovation Conference & Awards in India and how it is driving conversations and collaborations in Women’s Health in India today!
1 Focus on Women’s Health: We are proud to say that we are India’s first event dedicated to women’s health. At a time when femtech had just started being recognized in the West, we decided it was time to build awareness about femtech in India too. The conference uniquely centers around women’s health and innovations, bringing together stakeholders to address the specific challenges and opportunities in this critical area, which is often underrepresented in broader healthcare discussions.
2. Independent Platform: As an independent event, the conference operates free from corporate agendas, ensuring that the discussions, collaborations, and innovations are genuinely focused on advancing women’s health in India & beyond. A strong Advisory board and support from the industry helps us to align our event year after year with topics and issues surrounding women’s health that need to be discussed, actioned, and worked up.
3. Commitment of the Organizers: To us (Anu Bhatnagar, Praveen Kumar, and me) this is not just an event, it is a mission that we are all aligned to. It is our shared passion for the cause that has brought us together. We believe that together we can make an impact, start the conversation, make it a movement, and accelerate the pace to make health equity a reality in India. We are not just creating a platform, we have a long-term commitment that goes beyond just an event, evolving into a movement that champions women’s health all year round through various mediums including outreach and awareness sessions on a pan-India level.
4. Catalyst for Innovation: By showcasing cutting-edge technologies, research, and practices, the conference acts as a catalyst for innovation in women’s health, encouraging the development and adoption of solutions tailored to the unique needs of Indian women.
5. Collaborative Environment: We cannot work in silos anymore. It is collaboration that brings success. The event fosters a collaborative atmosphere where healthcare professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers, incubators and accelerators, funding agencies can come together, exchange ideas, and form partnerships that drive progress in women’s health.
6. Influential Speakers and Thought Leaders: The conference attracts influential speakers and thought leaders who are passionate about women’s health, providing attendees with insights and inspiration to implement meaningful changes in their respective fields.
7. Recognition of Excellence: The Awards segment of the event highlights and honors those making significant contributions to women’s health, setting a benchmark for excellence and inspiring others to strive for impactful results.
8. Holistic Approach: The conference addresses women’s health from a holistic perspective, covering a wide range of topics including reproductive health, mental health, nutrition, and access to healthcare, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the issues at hand.
9. Impact on Policy and Practice: By bringing key stakeholders together, the conference has the potential to influence healthcare policy and practice in India, driving systemic changes that improve health outcomes for women across the country.
10. Building a Sustainable Movement: Beyond the annual event, the conference is part of a broader effort to build a sustainable movement dedicated to advancing women’s health in India, ensuring that the conversation continues and leads to lasting change.
