Welcome to the epicentre of groundbreaking advancements in women's health – the Global Women's Health Innovation Conference & Awards (GWHIC). Since our inaugural event in 2022, we've been on a transformative journey, and we're thrilled to announce our 3rd edition taking place at the VMCC Hall, IIT Bombay in the vibrant city of Mumbai on December 11, 2024.
A Remarkable Evolution
From launching India's first event dedicated to women's health & health equity, the Global Women’s Health Innovation Conference & Awards (GWHIC) has evolved into a trailblazing platform at the forefront of women's health innovation.
Our growth is a testament to the industry's recognition of the value we bring to the table. In 2023, we witnessed unprecedented success, gathering brilliant minds, industry leaders, and visionaries under one roof. A powerful agenda that covered the entire lifespan of a woman, it featured many first-time topics that were never covered in any conference before. The conference highlighted crucial subjects often relegated to silence. Addressing taboo topics, we brought them to the forefront of discussions, marking a significant debut in shedding light on subjects of utmost importance yet often overlooked in mainstream discourse.
We introduced the inaugural GWHIC Innovation Awards for Excellence at GWHIC 2023. Recognizing and celebrating trailblazers who are making a profound impact on women's health through their unwavering passion, innovative approaches, and disruptive ideas.
We honoured those driving positive change in the landscape of women's well-being and health.

Reenita Das is a healthcare futurist and strategist, passionate about changing the healthcare industry. She got voted the top 100 women in Femtech and Healthtech and the top 50 Healthcare strategists to follow in 2021.
She has lived and worked in over 10 countries in the world, focusing on healthcare issues and working with public and private sector to implement growth change strategies.
Das currently serves as Partner and Senior Vice President and is the first woman Partner at Frost & Sullivan. In addition, she is the Founder of GLOW (Growth and Innovation of Women) program. She is also on the Board of a non profit “High Tech High Heels” Silicon Valley that focuses on increasing gender diversity for STEM. She is also part of the AdvisoryBoard in Arab Health.
In her current role, Das manages a global business and works largely with clients on futuristic scenarios and forecasts in understanding how healthcare will operate 20 years from today. She is focused heavily on rethinking consumer business models as healthcare makes a transition to health and identifying opportunities with companies outside of healthcare to bring solutions to the healthcare sector.
She is also focusing heavily on showcasing “Femtech” and the growth opportunities from this new sector which includes advising femtech companies on the right strategies and commercial business models to success.

Dr. Radha S. Murthy, an alumnus of St. John's Medical College, Bangalore has a brilliant academic career to her credit.
An eminent doctor with over 30 years of medical experience, she is also a recipient of the 2003 Rajyotsava Award conferred by the State of Karnataka in recognition of her services.
From the very beginning, she believed in practicing medicine with a difference, having a personalized, holistic, and need-based approach.
While serving in a hospital, she was looking for uncovered areas and gaps in the medical system in India. Moved by the plight of elders and the disabled who have difficulty in visiting hospitals, she started Nightingales Home Health Services in January 1996 to provide all possible medical care at the doorstep.
While providing home medical care, she had close contact with elders and identified their problems and the need for specialized care and facilities for the growing number of Elders.
She strongly believes that elders should remain an integral part of their family
In 1998 she founded Nightingales Medical Trust, a registered public charity, with the main objective of elder’s welfare and she is serving as a Managing Trustee.
Team Leader Geriatric Centre Project, St John’s Medical College, Bangalore
Dr Arvind Kasthuri works as Professor of Community Medicine & Mentor- Senior Citizen Health Service (SCHS) at the Department of Community Health, and team leader of the St John’s Geriatric Centre project, St John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India.
Recently, Dr Kasthuri has taken over charge as Chief of Medical Services of St John’s Medical College Hospital.
Dr Kasthuri joined St John’s Medical College in 1993. He has contributed to more than 30 research papers and has been involved in practical Community Health activity as a trainer, evaluator, and resource person to programs in different parts of India including Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand on over 50 occasions.
In the early 2000s, Dr. Kasthuri developed an interest in the health of the Elderly, resulting in the launch of the Senior Citizen Health Service (SCHS) at St. Johns Medical College.
Dr Kasthuri is a recipient of the BM Patil Memorial Oration Award of the Karnataka Association of Community Health and the Venkoba Rao Oration Award of the Indian Academy of Geriatrics on two occasions.
In 2020, the Senior Citizen Health Service won the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) award for “Best Practice” in Community Medicine. St John’s Medical College was awarded the prestigious “Vayoshreshta Samman” award of the Government of India in 2021 based on its work with the Elderly.
Currently, Dr. Kasthuri is the leader of the team for the establishment of the “St John’s Geriatric Centre”, a unique 125-bed, 7-story standalone facility on the St John’s campus planned to deliver care, training, research, and community engagement services to Elders and their caregivers.
Dr. Kasthuri enjoys teaching and igniting young minds, and is the recipient of the Pioneer’s award for “Teacher of the Year” four times at St John’s Medical College.
Off the beaten track, Dr Kasthuri is part of the CAUSE foundation and the Kiara Silver Chorale, promoting musical theatre in Bangalore and Mangalore in support of charitable causes. He has been a part of the annual musical productions of the CAUSE Foundation every year since 1997.
His TedX talk titled “That other thing you do” is available on YouTube and was received enthusiastically.
He is happily married to Kavitha, is father to Varun and Dhruv, and is on a quest to find meaning and peace in life.

Women are nearly twice as likely as men to suffer from mental illness. This gender disparity in depressive disorders may relate to social inequalities and living standards across nations. Currently, these disparities were not reflected at the level of health policies.
According to a CNBC report, the FemTech sector which is estimated to be worth $1.186 trillion by 2027, according to forecasts by the non-profit organization FemTech focus, is unable to reach anywhere close to its full potential due to the “taboo” nature of women’s health and gender imbalances in investment – two main obstacles to the industry.
